Our Story
K PIVU exists because of a simple, painful discovery: in a country with over a million people who grew up on taranka and Flint sukhariki, buying them online meant navigating "Russian food" catalogs designed in 2012, half the fish sold out, and free shipping starting at $200.
We're fixing all three. A proudly Ukrainian store — not a "Russian" one, and yes, that distinction matters to us and probably to you. Honest labels: every product shows its real origin, real ingredients, real allergens, from the actual package. And stock counts that mean something, because a store that's always sold out of its best product isn't a store, it's a museum.
What we sell
The snacks every Eastern European beer table runs on: dried and salted fish (taranka, vobla-style, yantarna strips), Flint sukhariki — Ukraine's cult rye croutons, dried squid, and proper Ukrainian chips. Everything factory-sealed, sourced from US-cleared distributor stock. We never open or repackage food — what we brand is the box, the sticker, and the insert card inside.
Fish ships in its own sealed pouch, so the aroma makes its grand entrance at your table, not at your mail carrier's expense.
The name
"K pivu" is the phrase every Slavic language understands — Czech k pivu, Polish do piwa, Ukrainian до пива: "goes with beer." That's the whole product philosophy in three syllables. Ukrainian friends: yes, we know — «до пива». That's exactly what the Ukrainian side of our packaging says.
Where we're going
A monthly K Pivu Box subscription, more genuinely-Ukrainian sourcing (working directly with producers in Ivano-Frankivsk and Kharkiv), and eventually our own «К пиву» private label. One shipped box at a time.
